The latest goings-on at Oakwood House

Find out all about what we’ve been up to both here at Oakwood House and out and about.

Visiting Update

We now have a gate with a lock fitted. The gate will be closed between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm to allow our Residents to use the garden. We welcome visiting to wave to your loved ones through the window outside of these hours. Thank you for your co-operation.

Our Residents made the most of the lovely bank holiday sunshine, as a small group sat outside in the garden and had their lunch together.

Wildlife Craft Theme

We have been making the most of the lovely weather by going around the garden most days topping the bird feeders up, only to discover the squirrels are getting clever and opening up some of the feeders!

On our travels we also saw a bumble bee which Residents were happy to watch. Many different birds have been around our garden and we often hear a pheasant too.

Later in the week, we decided to do a wildlife craft theme in the lounge. Residents got creative by colouring in bird and butterfly cut-outs which we hanged on our little tree which we think looked very good.

Visitor update

We would like to inform all visitors that we are having gates put up to ensure Residents can move freely in the garden without any risk. This is not to stop you visiting, you are still welcome to visit as long as you let Reception know then we can open the gates for you. Thank you for your understanding during these times.

Cakes for Key Workers

We would like to say a huge thank you to Holly Stanton and Nicky Bevis who lovingly baked us cakes #cakesforkeyworkers

Thank you to Sandra, our Deputy Manager who nominated us.
